Important Safety Information

METROGEL^® (metronidazole) Gel, 1% is indicated for the topical treatment of inflammatory lesions of rosacea. The most common adverse reactions that have been reported with the topical use of METROGEL^® 1% are sore throat/nasal congestion, upper respiratory tract infections, and headaches, as well as dryness, scaling, itching, and stinging. Transient redness, metallic taste, tingling or numbness of extremities and nausea have also been reported with the topical use of metronidazole. Tell your doctor if you are using blood thinning drugs like coumarin or warfarin, because there is a risk of interaction with metronidazole. Do not use METROGEL^® 1% if you are allergic to metronidazole or any of the other ingredients in the gel. METROGEL^® 1% is available by prescription only. Talk to your doctor to learn more about METROGEL^® 1%.

Important Safety Information

Oracea^® is indicated only for the treatment of inflammatory lesions (papules and pustules) of rosacea in adult patients. Some common side effects of Oracea are soreness in the nose and throat, diarrhea, sinus infection, and high blood pressure. Do not take Oracea if you are allergic to doxycycline or any of the other tetracyclines. Oracea is a member of the tetracycline class of drugs and therefore should not be used by individuals of either gender who are attempting to conceive a child and should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding because this class of drug could cause permanent discoloration of teeth during tooth development (up to the age of 8 years). Tetracyclines may also cause darkening of your skin, scars, teeth or gums as well as severe headaches, dizziness, or double vision. These are not all the possible side effects of Oracea. For more information, ask your doctor or pharmacist. When using Oracea, patients should minimize or avoid exposure to natural or artificial sunlight. Tell your doctor if you have stomach or GI problems, kidney disease, take blood thinners, oral contraceptives, or medicine to treat acne, psoriasis or seizures. Oracea does not treat bacterial infections and should only be used as prescribed by your doctor. The efficacy of Oracea beyond 16 weeks and safety beyond 9 months have not been established.
